1. Make a schedule for the day: To eliminate stress on the day it is a good idea to sit down a few days before the wedding and make a time schedule for the day involving every detail down to hair and make up and even relaxing with close friends and family the morning of the wedding .
2. Choose your first dance carefully: Choose a song that means something to you both and will connect you both on the dance floor. Be sure to rehearse the dance as there is nothing worse then worrying about dance moves instead of enjoying your first official dance together.
3. Open a wedding account: The best way to keep track of your wedding finances is to open an account that is solely dedicated to all your wedding plans. That way you can keep track of all money going in and out.
4. Get some help: Planning a wedding takes up a lot of time and unless you have spare time during the week you will find yourself getting bogged down with all the planning and organisation. Avail of services such as wedding planners to help keep the stress of planning to a minimum.
5. Always carry a notebook: You never know where you will be when you get an inspired wedding idea! You may think you will remember them but it can get lost amid all the other things going on in your head. Carrying a notebook with you will ensure you get all your thoughts or ideas written down.
6. Take your time walking down the aisle: With nerves and excitement taking over most brides don't realise how fast they are walking down the aisle making it hard for photographers and videographers to capture the moment
7. Keep track of your guests: Using an online spreadsheet and inputting all details such as name, address, RSVP and menu or diet requirements will cut time considerably when making a table plan.
8. Send directions to church/hotel with invitations: This is something that can save you a lot of hassle and a lot of phone calls on the day!
9. Assign a dresser for the day: This can sometimes be forgotten about but it is important that someone knows how to put your dress on you. Have a rehearsal a few days before so they know exactly how to get you into it properly. This can be useful when you need to go to the bathroom too!
10. Assign someone to take gifts/cards: Have someone assigned to take any gifts or cards and take down names of who gave them on the day. There is nothing worse then not knowing who gave you a gift on the day when writing thank you cards.
